This morning my friend, Richard Krawiec, who leads poetry - TopicsExpress

This morning my friend, Richard Krawiec, who leads poetry workshops around the country, posted a question about feeling safe versus unsafe as we move through our worlds and throughout our day. What does it take to for us to feel safe? Are there private rituals we perform, our own personal mantras to ground ourselves ~ maybe some we do almost without realizing it? If so, what emotional and spiritual wellsprings are these tapping into? Are we finding that with age and experience comes a greater ability to step back and let go? Or does the increase of responsibility for others and ourselves bring a burden that just seems to keep growing exponentially? How does the gift of art in our lives help with all of this? Is it just a pleasant distraction or does the benefit extend far deeper? Id like to share with you a video just sent to me by another friend of mine. I have to say, I was surprised by my initial reaction, and by the inner struggle within myself as I viewed it. A reminder of the opportunities art affords us to know our own psyches more intimately when we expose ourselves to ideas that at first might make us uncomfortable...
