This morning on Fox & Friends, Fox News host Clayton Morris told viewers that if the FDA’s preliminary findings take effect, crackers, frozen pizza, popcorn, coffee creamers and canned frosting will all be prohibited. “If you’re making some cookies once a year with your kids on the holidays, that’ll be banned,” Morris added. The flagrant, brazen lies from Fox, and especially from this show, boggle the mind. What they are referring to is the FDAs activity surrounding trans fats. Trans fats that have already been eliminated voluntarily by Dunkin Donuts, Krispy Kreme, and thousands of prepared foods without consumers ever noticing a thing. Even Crisco has all but eliminated trans fats, down to the point that they can legally list 0 grams of trans fat in their product. So no, nobody is coming to ban your doughnuts and cookies. I kind of wish someone could ban Fox & Friends and their misinformation campaign, though. Stupid First Amendment ;)
