This morning, on my way to the grocery store.. I was stopped at the traffic light on Steinweher Ave and Taneytown road. On the sidewalk a few yards ahead , were two men , in their 30s and decently dressed. They were about to enter the gates of the National Cemetery at the flag pole. Just then, one of the Gents, had extended his left arm to stop his friend. The man then looked up at the flag, came to attention and executed a hand salute. Folks, Ive not see n that done in many years, and thought I was the only one who still salutes our flag or any flag as I or it passes by. As a matter r of fact, the National Park Service no longer conducts the flag ceremony in the a.m. or p.m. I think Ill inquire as to why. At least itll stir up some trouble ..
