This morning our family lost a truly wonderful woman - I have so many fond memories of Betty from time spent staying with them in Baytown, visits in the valley and her relentless remembrance of my little family during all holidays, birthdays and special occasions (which is no small feat considering the size of the Cisneros family, not to mention all the Weavers too). She was always so welcoming and devoted to her family, and of course she was one of the best cooks! Ill never forget the year I was tricked into eating a chili piquin right off the vine - I was sick for days and so disappointed that I couldnt eat anything. She sent me home with a stack of tortillas and a week later they were still soft and delicious. Sometimes you dont really know the impact someone has had on your life until you no longer have the chance to tell them. I hope that I can develop that skill she had to make everyone around her feel important, special and loved. We will miss you!
