This morning, the Rapid Valley Fire Department along with automatic mutual aid from Rapid City Fire Department, the North Haines Fire Department and the Box Elder Fire Department responded to a report of a structure fire on Dawn Ln. On arrival, crews found smoke coming from the roof vents and from windows on the rear of the home.Quick and aggressive fire attack and overhaul confined the fire to the kitchen area. There is some smoke damage in the rest of the home. No one was home at the time of the fire and there were no civilian or fire service injuries. The Rapid Valley Fire Department would like to thank our membership for the turn-out as well as the Pennington County Sheriffs Office, Black Hills Chapter of the American Red Cross for their assistance.
