This morning was the perfect morning for deer hunting in Arkansas. - TopicsExpress

This morning was the perfect morning for deer hunting in Arkansas. 60 degrees before daylight no wind. Sun rise teperature dropped 10 deres light Northwest wind with drizzle. I had 2 hours to hunt before I had to get ready to go home. So I put the bow and arrow up and pulled out the rifle. I figured it was going to be a late morning deer movement. I was not going to have time for them to come to me. I got in the climber by 5:30 am. And by 8:15 pm I made a hunter mistake. I let my impatient self get out of stand and decided to walk the fence line where I had heard and saw the buck the 0ast 3 mornings. I looped around the pasture and as I came back beside the home we where styling at. There the 6 does were in the pasture adjacent to the pasture I was in. A small brush thicket with trees separated us. It was a 200 + yard shot I am fully capable of making with th 30/06. The problem was there was another home within 400 yards on the other side of the pasture behind a small tree line in direct shot path. I passed up the shot and tried the advance up the fence line for a better position and shot that did not present any danger of hitting a home. Well with there sharp eye sight they spotted me and ran over the hillside away from me. ALWAYS REMEMBER BE SAFE KNOW THE DIRECTION AND WHATS BEHIND YOUR INTENDED TARGET. Most of all be patient if I would have stayed in the stand it would have been a 100 - 150 yard safe direction shot and I would have been skinning a deer instead of packing up and writing this long post.
