This morning we pulled out the fish net.. Lots of over flow water on the shoreline and ice is raising so the river must have froze up all the way downriver.. Had to four wheel fast on the edge to get on the solid ice.. Two pike. One was huge and so fat.. Weather has been hanging around 22*.. Took out what I thought was moose belly for soup but it turned out to be moose head.. Didnt get to cook it as long but the tongue part was tender.. Will get four meals out of that.. It was/is good... Also Fill the wood box back up day.. Roger has been working on reopening one of the north upriver trap lines using a four wheeler.. Chainsaw was busy with lots of deadfall and he is tired tonight.. Other lines need snow.. You know that white stuff.. About a foot of it at least.. Walked thru the woods around camp looking for Chaga and spotted lots of wolf tracks.. Old ones.. Prayers of comfort for Tyson Dewilde and small son as they bury his wife Natalie.. Thankful he has lots of family around him..
