This mornings email devotion from Pastor Herb: Nehemiah, chapter 3 Take a moment to read the chapter Good morning Canopy! We are reading through the Book of Nehemiah each day this week. Yesterday, I noticed that Nehemiah was right on target to pray first! However, he didnt just pray and do nothing else - After he brought the situation before the Lord, then he began to formulate a plan. He went out to inspect the damage of the ruins by himself, by the light of the moon. Then he inspired the towns people to join him in the work for their own sake. Today, in chapter 3, we cant help but notice all the people that were involved in the rebuilding of the wall - people of all stations in life. (for some reasons the nobles of one area did not put their shoulder to the work) The greater the vision, the greater the need for everyone to get involved. I hope all of Canopy will be involved in our building process on the sixteen-acres down in the Linn Creek valley. •Please continue to pray for the sale of the 3.2 acres on Old Hwy. 5 South. •Pray for our newly elected officials from yesterdays poll - that they might have wisdom for their respective responsibilities in our community. •Janet and I ran into an old church member/friend from St. Louis yesterday. She informed us that the wife of Kerry Messer (Lynn) has been missing for several days. Kerry has been a Christian presence in our state capitol for many years. Please pray for this family. •August means back-to-school and that means back to a more regular routine for most families during the Fall. Pray for our ministries to our families and the community this Fall. How can you put your shoulder to the work of spiritual development at Canopy? How can we be praying with you?
