This new age South African so called vernacular Hip Hop is slowly becoming an agent of dichotomy and suble Tribalism. I had since declared I value content more than the language you choose to pass on the message Hip Hop essentially it was meant to help us understand each the other break the barriers and connect cultures. We would articulate our condition, aspiration and dreams. We would highlight challenges and offer solutions. Now its Motswako for tgis segment of society, Spaza for the other, Kasi Rap for that other one, when a certain rapper gets to be on TV or get an award a particular tribe celebrates. I behold this with absolute contempt especially when i recalll the Divide and conquer Philosophy. I know you will argue that i came and introduced Truth Music and How is that different from what I am speaking against? Well Truth Music is not characterized by language but by principalities and projected outcome. Xhosa, Sotho; Zulu, Tswana, English Spitters I side with substane kickers. Mostly this vernacular rappers culturally and linguistically are wanting. The Xhosa rappers do not challenge or raise concern about the escalating deaths at the bogus initiation schools. Kasi Rap fanatics do not challenge amagundwana and all other ills in Alex and so the list goes on. PS. I DO NOT EXPECT YOU tO AGREE. A FOOL WILL CHALLENGE MY PERSON.
