This news will come as a surprise to more than half of The Hawks - TopicsExpress

This news will come as a surprise to more than half of The Hawks flock following me here, but Ive been finding my way in front of the camera as of late and can be seen in a brief 10 second scene during the first five minutes of STARRY EYES, a (very) independent feature film being released tomorrow (Nov. 14) on iTunes, Amazon, Vimeo, Google Play, Xbox Entertainment, Sony Entertainment Network, Vudu, and On Demand. The Hawk even made it into the trailer for STARRY EYES as well. If you dont blink at 00:27-00:28, youll be able to Spot the Hawk as the Acting Coach in this psychological horror feature film. As described on imdb, in STARRY EYES a hopeful young starlet uncovers the ominous origins of the Holly wood elite and enters into a deadly agreement in exchange for fame and fortune. STARRY EYES is an ULTRA creepy film that has NOT (yet) been rated by the MPAA but Im certain it would receive an R-rating for intensity, psychological horror, gore, blood, violence, and nudity if it were to be rated by the board. The film starts out calmy enough but gradually builds in intensity and reaches a horrific climax of gore, blood, and overall ickiness during its final act. It will definitely give many viewers the creeps and could easily be nightmare inducing. Kevin Kölschs and Dennis Widmyers taunt direction and clever cinematics really bowled me over when I saw the L.A. premiere in September. The film haunted me for an entire week afterwards due to the relentless tension built in it through exquisite lighting, editing, music scoring, and the pairs direction. However the most impressive ingredient in STARRY EYES is the stunning break-out performance by Alexandra Essoe in the lead role! This up & coming actress enriches her character with mind-boggling integrity, honesty, and vulnerability throughout the entire film. The transformation that Essoe completes with her character from beginning to end is an absolute marvel to see. This is one of the most physically demanding and visceral portrayals Ive ever seen on the big screen, and I was in awe of Essoes willingness and courage to lay it all out there like she does. STARRY EYES could very well prove to be a huge career kick starter for Alexandra Essoe. However make no mistake, STARRY EYES is definitely NOT for everybody. I, for one, have steered away from watching horror films for over 30 years now, and had been a (very) small part of the film I would not have been able to watch the movie at all, despite its noteworthy achievements for the genre. If you DO choose to watch it though, PLEASE remember I warned you that the last act of the film sneaks up on you and is extremely graphic and disturbing. And for the curious followers of The Hawk out there, please remember that Im in it for just a very few seconds during the opening five minutes of the film and will NOT be seen on screen again (except for my name credited in the end titles). So, dont see STARRY EYES to get a brief glimpse of The Hawk on camera, because if you do watch it for that reason alone, youll most definitely be greatly disappointed. Since Im in the film, I wont rate or comment any further on the film. However, heres what some other film critics are saying about STARRY EYES: Starry Eyes is ... a nightmare logic-fueled portrait of actor life.-Fangoria Featuring a knockout performance by Alexandra Esseo as a sweet young hopeful who transforms into a nasty, feral nutcase after selling much more than her soul to a shadowy production company, the pic pushes the Tinseltown nightmare scenario to inventive and exciting extremes. - Richard Kuipers (Variety) If David Lynch and David Cronenberg came together to craft a gory, psychological mindbender, it might be Starry Eyes. - Michael Roffman (Time) Alexandra Essoe shines in the lead role as Sarah Walker, a young actress who sacrifices her mind, body and soul in a paranoia-fueled effort to break into the Hollywood spotlight. - The Examiner This is an exciting and brilliant work of originality, a possession movie that examines our society’s obsession with fame. - Next Projection ********* STARRY EYES gets released tomorrow (Nov. 14) on: iTunes, Amazon Vudu, Google Play, Xbox Entertainment, Sony Entertainment Network Vimeo, and Cable VOD! It is also opens in select theaters in L.A. and NYC tomorrow as well. Once again, If you dont blink at 00:27-00:28, youll be able to Spot the Hawk in the trailer linked below. Enjoy!
