This next posting is very moving please read the whole text as it has a very good punch line He was the born in the same year as my Nan 1899 he was age 14: BURNLEYS YOUNGEST SOLDIER Private Michael Cowen (Micheal Cohen?) 2204 4th Manchester Regiment Born in St. Johns Blackburn Lived at 121 Parliament Street He enlisted on the 10th August 1914 giving his age as 17 years and 2 months and his trade as a tailors carter. His parents were Max (deceased) and Florence H . He was actually born sometime after the 20th May 1899.He was sent to France on the 4th May 1915 but was sent home on the 30th June on account of his youthbeing discharged on the 6th August 1915. He then rejoined the Worcester Regiment on the 31st October 1917 (No 62489) and gave his trade as an officers tailor. He was later discharged on the 24th June 1919 on account of heart trouble. Later to live at 62 Manchester Road. Religian Russian Jew
