This one goes out to the notable Alice Valle-Florez. Ran and I heard this in the car today and she knows what a favorite of mine it is. The Adagietto is part of Mahlers 5th Symphony (although it often played as a stand alone piece and may be his most performed piece). This movement is said to have been composed for his wife and after listening to it for a few minutes it becomes quite clear that that he absolutely adored her (Ran wants to know when Im writing something like that for her - im sure will get a piece, but there are few that can ever write on the level of Mahler). The piece came up in conversation tonight and I told Ms. Alice I would send her a link... Well, if shes going to get to enjoy something this gorgeous shouldnt the rest of you as well?
