This one is hard for me... Seated in the historic Christ Second Baptist Church for the Homegoing Celebration of Mr. Elijah Buggs A giant of a man, one of my extended Grandfathers, one of the saints I visited twice a month for over 4 years.I have learned much from him. A longtime family friend having known my Flenoil Grandparents for over 60 years. He always encouraged me to observe & learn, to be resourceful with my prosperity and be dedicated to serve others. He always commended me for my efforts in serving in the charity world. He told me how he observed how strong I was in enduring the death of my mother and to stay with God and cling to my Grandparents. He gave me words of strength as I continue to care for my Grandparents, his close and special friends. He saw in me things I didnt know were in me. He always gave me a scripture and words of support for making an impact in the world and for the benefit of humanity. A Christian A Husband A Family man A Church man An Engineer A Christian Scholar An African American Success Advocate A Humanitarian Because of him role modeling Holiness, compassion, service, excellence & humility I believe that I am a better person. You fought a good fight, you were incredibly strong and deeply faithful until the end. Even in sickness you never wavered in your faith or in your trust in God. Gone but not forgotten... Goodnight Mr. Buggs, we shall see you in the morning, in the New Jerusalem!
