This one lift is working my clients hamstrings, gluts, quadriceps, lower back, abdominal muscles, upper back muscles. The load of 65kg which is her 1 rep max at the moment (10kg above her body weight) is resulting in her neuromuscular system and motor skills to quickly adapt to the task in-order for the lift to be completed. As she stands up straight you can see how she uses her gluts to shift her pelvic tilt so her core/abbs/trunk takes control of the weight. remember its 65kg. Imagine the demand this is putting on not just on her abdominal muscles but all the muscles mentioned above. That demand is resulting in her using energy systems in her body she thought she never had and burning calories she thought she could never burn. I advice both men and women to get out of the habit of just doing high reps of 15+ to lose weight or tone up think about the quality of the reps you are doing and assess the demand its placing on your body.
