This over-extended campaign period in such a small economy is irrational. It is probably done with the hope that the supposedly less wealthy opposition will eventually run out of stimulus and may probably hug someone which will discredit them... As time goes on, people keep speaking about journalists who should ask the hard questions to the only one willing to speak to all of the press as if journalistic doctrine dictated that an interview should be a contest in which the interviewer should humiliate the interviewee... When a few months ago Lennox Linton visited Paris France as a part of the UWP Team Dominica tour, it was my impression that too few people even in Dominica had seen Linton speaking on TV in the role and tone of a statesman. Probably it was felt that he was sufficiently visible for so many years in the local media. I knew that if I spoke to him, it would definitely have a greater impact than many given the context and who I am being known at home and abroad. In twenty minutes of the best available audio and video quality he (Linton) was able to introduce and reintroduce himself as a credible candidate. In fact the show was broadcast with sub-titles to a French audience and the response was overwhelming. This was a turning point!
