This page is being started for all Pennsylvania residents and visitors and all level of Governments to fully understand just how bad overlapping of transit routes are to each other to end waste have money spent for mass transit to be used properly. This would help expand mass transit across PA to the state lines of New York, New Jersey, Delaware, Maryland, West Virginia and Ohio. In past few years two major House bills have been passed in Pennsylvania to help in prove mass transit and all means of transportation, however the overlapping of transit systems that are wasting money by overlapping systems like Port Authority of Allegheny County is creating a loss of transit revenue to PAT in Allegheny County in Pittsburgh to where PAT has been forced to end services and its also creating a mess to where those systems are denying their county residents and other near by them mass transit options. Westmoreland Transit and New Castle Transit are two of the 10 Counties in Southwestern Pennsylvania that need to make major changes to better mass transit to help create a far better plan for transit to be in proved across Pennsylvania. Westmoreland Transit for example has 29 transit express trips operating to from Pittsburgh that are overlapping PATs routes on 1F,2F,3F,14F that are taking PAT fare box fares of up to $1,200,600.00 per year from PATs passenger fares. This does not include Westmoreland Transit routes 4,4S and 14J. Passengers from Westmoreland County would rather pay money to drive to and from Pittsburgh than pay a extra for parking, fuel etc., then to meet PAT at the County lines and take more than one bus to and from Pittsburgh to work. The county lines that Westmoreland County Transit overlaps PAT is as close to as follows. US 30 @ PA 48, Trafford at PA 993 @ PA 130, US 22 @ PA 286 or easy PAT connection at Allegheny County Community Collage Boyce Campus or at Miracle Mile Shopping Center at US 22 @ PA 48. The connections to PATs routes could be easily made to WCTA on PATs P76 Lincoln Highway, 69/P69 Trafford/Trafford Express. 67/P67 Monroeville/Monroeville Express, P13 Holiday Express as examples. Currently PATs monthly fares for a zone 2 monthly cost $146.25 and Westmoreland Transit is charging a zone 3 fare of $192.00 to operate buses outbound and inbound from 41 Bell Way to Pittsburgh Pennsylvania. PATs zone 2 cash base is $3.75 and with using a seated 46 passenger coach of WCTA by 29 daily trips a day this takes approx. $1,200,600.00 from PATs passenger fare boxes a year plus more for 4,4S and 14J that number of passengers are unknown to me at this time. However a lot of these coaches are under 20 passengers to far lower each way. If WCTA would end Pittsburgh Commuters and if they were to end at above areas and if passengers would pay for both a zone 2 WCTA monthly pass that fare would drop to $128.00 saving them $64.00 per month. By adding another $82.25 per month by each WCTA passenger this would allow the overlapping to end as close to county line as possible, it would also help to allow money to be spend properly. WCTA could re due 5 & 6 Routings and could bring back cut two 7 routes and create a new route across US 22 from Monroeville to connect to Indigo Transit at Blairsville Wal Mart. This new route across US 22 could help bring new ridership from WCTAs panhandle routes of 12, 14/14S,15 with Westmoreland County trunk routes of 20F,17, 16/16S, 5/5S,6,18F,8,9/9S,9A/9AS,11 that could be bettered served with 7 day a week service and just maybe with hourly service instead of poorly operated service of every two hours M-F. I have been told also that Indigo Transit had to dump Saltsburg PA service and the WCTA 15 Avonmore Route could be a help to those needing to be connected to meet Indigo Transit with Port Authority of Allegheny County, Towne & County from Kittanning, Butler Transit if wastes were cut by all involved which I will slowing get into on this page if people would stop having my pages blocked for the fact that they dont want changes to be made by Harrisburg Federal and other offices that need to crack down on wastes. Yes I am in Public Housing however its a blessing to be out of shelters and I also love to study history of railroads, canals and rails to trails. Pittsburgh Mills is in Allegheny County and PATs Harmar Garage was wrongly shut down and with that garage closed PAT basically ended service to 6 lifeline routes of 75A/B/C/D/E and 5 Natrona. PAT dumped years before the closure 5BCKEFG routings along with 3L & 3M and many others. WCTA took over 3L,5EFG, however WCTA services are poorly operated and served. Currently as some more examples: Gerry at Towne & Country is not permitted to operate south of Ford City and PAT never picked up service form Harmony Short line or West Penn Railways between areas of as far west of where New Castle Transit operates on their 59.0 miles through 3 Counties of Lawrence, Butler and Allegheny. From Interstate 79 @ US 19 at PA 528 at Zelienople Park N Ride that NCTA wants you to believe is in Evans City PA has created a huge issue where PAT ended services from McKnight Road north from Where US 19 meets Business US 19 up to PA 528 and at PNR at PA 488 @ I 79 near Browns Country Kitchen on west on PA 68 PA 488 to Butler to Westmoreland County and from Rite Aid in Tarentum @ 4th & Corbett to Ford City PA has been denied mass transit for years. One of my ideas is to get WCTA to end Pittsburgh Commuters and as above operate a new US 22 route between Wal Mart Blairsville PA to Monroeville as well as the following. Have WCTA serve Saltsburg to meet at Allegheny Plaza with a new route that could service Leechburg with a connection to Towne & Country in West Leechburg as new route would use PA 356 to Freeport to Highlands Mall to serve Allegheny Valley Hospital in Harrison with 9th Avenue in Harrison and Brackenridge to PNR to meet PATs 1 at Tarentum then use River Avenue to serve Natrona where ATI Steel is where Penn Salt was using Argonne and Spring Hill to end at Heights Plaza if PAT cant re instate 5 Natrona. Currently when P10 Allegheny Valley of PAT dont operate it takes us 30-45 minutes to walk to Highlands Mall and for a 2.7 Mile walk down hill to get PATs 1 Freeport it takes 1 1/2 hours each way. The WCTA 14J if PAT cant bring back 5 Natrona or extend 14J via Springdale, Cheswick right on Pillow Avenue to Pittsburgh Mills Pennys door 1 to Wal Mart to East Deer Sheetz to right Freeport to Tarentum then right Corbett to right Freeport Road to Heights Plaza to meet new route to Allegheny Plaza. To give you a better idea how this area is understand this is along the Pennsylvania Canal Western Division now Western Pennsylvania Railroad that became PRR along its first route from Philadelphia coming Johnstown PA.
