This painting (NEMO 1934) resonates for me on many levels. It was the first painting I completed in my studio at 400 West Rich. Having my own space to paint was and is something of a wonder to me as I didnt start painting until I was 40 years old. Allowing this gift to myself resonates with me. The painting tells the story of Everett Ruess, who disappeared in the Utah wilderness in 1934. He resonates with me because he followed his path and his art regardless of risk. Anyone who remains true to themselves has the opportunity to live on and inspire.
