This painting of some Curlew in flight was exhibited in Norfolk - TopicsExpress

This painting of some Curlew in flight was exhibited in Norfolk last month. Its a biggie & I made the decision not to frame it as it was painted on one of those deep canvases that you can get away without framing. There was another reason I didnt frame it & that was that it wouldnt have fitted in the car. On the opening day of the exhibition it was one of the first paintings to sell but on the condition that I frame it. Well thats what ive been doing this week & im pleased with the results. Its been good to devote some time to one frame for one painting. The couple who purchased it sent me some photos of the room where it was going to be hung so ive taken this into account & chosen the colours & style to suit. Im off to Norfolk this Friday to marry up the painting with the frame. Lets hope that I didnt make a mistake measuring it & that it fits well. Being a coastal scene I wanted to have a flavour of the sea, something a little driftwoody but also with some of the tones in the room. The room has wooden beams, red distressed brickwork & pale warm toned walls so I think it should look good. I launched my first blog last Sunday so if you havent had a peep then please do so. Its quite weird as you cant tell if anyone reads it or not & you dont get any feedback like you do on Facebook. Plus ive noticed that when I share it to my art page, it doesnt go to many people like my normal posts do. I think this must be because it isnt run by Facebook. If any of you have had a look please let me know what you think, cheers. Heres a link to it: davidcowdry.blogspot
