I feel SO blessed that I found this business - or, should I say, that it found ME - and that I get to live the life I want to live on MY time, around MY family!! And... If youre interested, lets chat!! loveyourbestskin In case you cant hear my story on the video, here it is: I was in corporate marketing for 10 years and, at the ripe age of 28, landed my dream job! I was the Vice President of Marketing for a local construction company here in San Diego. And I had made it in that industry. I was making a ton of money, had an expense account, got to do all the fun marketing events.... and then the economy CRASHED. And it crashed HARD. And, one of the first things to get cut is marketing, so I was basically on the verge of losing my job. Micromanagement skyrocketed and I no longer loved the job I once loved so much. I knew I needed to make a change. So, I decided to write my own business plan. I was going to open up a bridal accessory store here in San Diego. I wrote the business plan, had the venue, was working with vendors... all I needed was a small business loan for $500,000. And, in a down economy, the questions were flying through my head - what if this doesnt work? Will I be married to this store the rest of my life? What if my employees start stealing from me? And I just wasnt feeling at peace about it. I knew there had to be SOMETHING else out there. So, one night, I was online doing research for my business plan, and, of course, had Facebook up too. And I was friends with a woman I had met through a networking event years ago. She had gotten married & moved to TX, and right then, she had just posted something about her Rodan + Fields business. So, I had to reach out to her. And I was like, So.... Katye, what are you doing now? And she told me, Oh, Im working with the doctors who created Proactiv. What they did for acne in the 90s were now doing for aging & sun damaged skin. I thought rather than starting my own thing from scratch, this business is completely set up for me... no overhead, no rent payment, no inventory.... AND, I can leverage a global brand that EVERYONE knows to start & grow my own business from day one without having to grow and build the infrastructure that I would have with a retail store! This sounds too good to be true.... So I jumped in head first. After 2 months, I left the job I no longer loved, at 6 months, I started paying my San Diego mortgage, and 1 year into the business, I earned a trip to wine country and SF and am now paying ..... ?? . It’s been an incredible ride and I feel so blessed to get to “work” with some of the most amazing people. And what’s the most exciting is that it’s only just the beginning! But the BEST part is that Ive always believed my true calling in life is to be a stay-at-home mom. My friends thought I was crazy and it didnt go with my personality. Now, in December, when our baby boy gets here, I get to be the stay-at-home mom Ive always dreamed about, yet still have the outlet of a fun, rewarding business on MY time, and help contribute to our family financially!!
