This past Saturday, I took part in the 2013 Mississippi Spartan Race. I did it last year too, so I knew what I was about to go through. The course was 4.5 miles long, filled with every horrible obstacle you can think of. On top of all of that, it was 58 degrees and raining the whole time, and the only thing I was wearing was socks, shoes, and compression shorts. I was in hell, frozen hell. I finished the race cut up, bruised, cold, cramping, muddy, and just tired. I wanted to just lay down and die, but instead I raised my bloodied hands high, because I did more than just complete the race, I won some personal battles too. During the race I kept telling my self that I cant do it and it wasnt possible. But at about the halfway point, I stopped and told my self everything that I have ever told anyone. I used all of my motivational stuff on me and I started pushing through each and every obstacle. I finished in the top 1% and yeah, I trained for it, but I still wasnt the fastest or strongest guy out there. Those guys finished good too, but the reason I finished good was because I refused to be a victim, I wanted to be a victor. This past Saturday, I made it through a physical, mental, and emotional hell, and once I was finished I raised my hands because I know that I am now a better person, all the way around. Thats what you must do during every challenge you face. Battle through that hell and I promise there is nothing but success on the other side. Good morning everyone, have a great day.
