This past Sunday, ESPN anchor and journalist Stuart Scott died. I cried and cried ... there was something about knowing that he was battling cancer with such grace that made it easier for me. I realize that sounds silly, given the fact that I didnt know him. But something he said when accepting the Jimmy V award for Courage has stuck with me during my own cancer odyssey. When you die, that does not mean you lose to cancer. You beat cancer by how you live, why you live and in the manner in which you live. So live, live, fight like hell. And when you get too tired, lay down, rest and let someone else fight for you. Cancer didnt beat Stuart Scott! Stuart Scott, through his brave battle with cancer, inspired millions of us to live as completely and as committedly as he did. Once again, cancer, #epicfail. And Mr. Scott, thank you for laying out my road map for dealing with this disease each and every day. I promise to make you proud. Oh, and thanks for Boo-yah! BEST sports phrase ever! #suckitcancer #stuartscottgreatness #liveeveryday
