This past week has been one of the hardest weeks of my life. Anyone who knows me personally knows how close I am with my dogs. Closer than I am with most people I love. This week we had to lay Skye to rest. He fought a hard battle of T-Cell lymphoma for over 18 months. he defied the odds, escaped the boundaries, but God finally decided its time I needed an angel to look over me. We got him as a puppy when I was 12 years old. We grew up together, matured together and competed as a world champion team together in competitive frisbee. Everyone who remembers Skye on the field, remembers that waggin tail, happy grin, and just that obvious bond that we shared when we were playing frisbee. Even though as life has changed dramatically for me in the last two years as Ive had to become my own man, and Ive had to take a break from frisbee because of the many things my family and I have gone through, he still loved me unconditionally. everytime He met me at the door, it was with that same goofy smile that I will always remember for the rest of my life. Skye you brought me joy, you saved my life, and I am only the man I am today because the challenges and obstacles we faced over your 9.5 years of life. I will let you know . Skye didnt lose his fight to cancer, he won in so many ways. He won the hearts of so many people, and he showed those doctors what it was like to never give up. But when God says its time its time, and I know that I have one heck of an angel watching over me. Its so hard to lose the ones you love, like I lost my best buddy Skye boy this week. But I will never forget the time I got to spend with you last week in the park eating chicken nuggets and playing in the creek (I attached out last picture together). But I know this wasnt goodbye Skye, more like, until we meet again. I love you Skye. So much.
