This past week we continued our discussion on the Millennial - TopicsExpress

This past week we continued our discussion on the Millennial Kingdom. I believe we got through one or two of the 7 or 8 questions we had. Most of this will just be food for thought and will more than likely raise more questions but please enjoy and feel free to ask away… here are some of the highlights The first thing we looked at and what we seemed to keep coming back to was the idea that there are multiple kingdoms listed throughout Scripture and we must make sure we are keeping them properly separated and not mixing one kingdom with another…just as some do with the rapture of the church and the second coming of Christ. The word kingdom is used 333 times in Scripture… we see a lot of mention of kingdom in 1st and 2nd Samuel and 1st and 2nd Kings with Saul, David, and Solomon. But do any of these kingdoms refer to the MK? When God promised a kingdom to Israel, was He referring to the millennial kingdom, or an eternal kingdom? There is no denying that Israel was promised a kingdom and a King… Something I personally found interesting as I looked at this was the Davidic Covenant, recorded in II Samuel 7, here are just a couple things that jumped out: "I will set up thy seed after thee .... I will establish the throne of his kingdom forever... thine house and thy kingdom shall be established forever before thee... I will appoint a place for my people Israel, and will plant them, that they may dwell in a place of their own, and move no more." As I read over this I thought…does this sound like a thousand years or eternity? Is this the MK or will this be on the New Earth after all is reconciled and made perfect? I came to the conclusion that a person could spend years sorting through all the prophecies and crazy theory’s surrounding the kingdom. Probably enough to qualify you for a master’s degree! lol =) Again, this is by no means even the tip of the iceberg, I hope it’s just enough to get you into the Psalms, Isiah, and the rest of Scripture to see what you can learn about the MK…and when you do, please share it with us so that we can be encouraged too! Stand_Fast…see you all on Sunday =)
