This past weekend I happened to accidentally eavesdrop on some folks talking about the laptop project for standard one children, which is a pre-election pledge by the Jubilee Government of Uhuru and Ruto. The folks were giving some ‘facts’ on how the laptops will ‘help’ the kids ‘acquire knowledge’ on computers by the time they graduate (from where? I don’t know). Unfortunately, all the reasons they gave were all arriving at the same ambiguous conclusion stated above, that is, the kids’ acquisition of knowledge before graduation. After they were done with the talk that lasted five minutes or less, I looked at them once, then twice and thrice, albeit with a concealed look of concern and shook my head in dismay. “Are you folks realizing how unreasonable you sound? If you knew, then you would realize that you are only revolving around one vicious circle and line of thought in no precise direction,’’ I quietly said to myself!
