This past weekend, a dear student, whom I worked with for 5 years, passed away. There is no way to describe the impact he had on my life, on my teaching, and on my heart. Whenever I was having a particularly hard day, I knew all I had to do was get me some Noah time for 15-20 minutes, and my day would be turned around. His smile could light up the largest of rooms. While he freely shared his love with everyone, he was more reserved when it came to handing out his friendship, but once he chose to be your friend, he was your friend for life. Though I moved away and ceased to work with him just over 2 years ago, Id continue to get texts from his mother, telling me that he was walking around the house, calling my name. Similar things can be said about the other CHA staff friends he made. He was a very loyal friend. I loved this little guy so much, and will miss him dearly. If you are able, please consider helping his family through this trying time.
