This past weekend our organization held its 4th Annual On The Move event and during the event I overheard someone say, I never realized there were so many variations of Prader-Willi Syndrome. What this person meant was not all individuals with PWS are impacted the exact some way. Fact: As with autism, individuals with PWS vary along a spectrum with some being mildly affected, others being severely affected, and yet others falling somewhere in the middle of the spectrum. Therefore, it is important to understand just because you have met one person with PWS doesnt mean the next person you meet with PWS will be the same. Take time to get to know each individual person as the person they are, not the person you may have met before.
