This photo evokes great memories for me. Another on-time departure, the flights saluted off and youre waiting for him to taxi. All the time youre surrounded by a virtual tornado of roaring, throbbing noise as those twin GM Allison engines crank up the rpms on the giant four bladed Aeroproducts props. I have failed miserably in explaining the sensation to friends over the years. Standing in front of a CV580 at full throttle was like nothing else on earth! This pic is from 1968 - location unknown. It would be a hoot if someone could ID the station agent.
