This photograph shows the winners of East Zone Inter University Volleyball Championship hosted by APS University, Reewa ,Madhya pradesh, in 1976.The Ranchi University defeated Calcutta University to become winners for the first time.This photo was taken on 28.10.1976the players(sitting ,left to right)are Sukhdeo Singh,Dilip K.Sachdewa,K.Satyanarayana,Akhter Hussain, Jaspal Singh, (Standing,Lto R)Brijesh Singh,Gautama Bannerjee,Shekhar Bose,(coach)Prof.M.L.Das (manager)Pradip k.Tiwary,Sunil Kumar Tiwary,and Arun Sarkar.. Arun Sarkar is a famousRadiologist today, at Ranchi,Sunils. Son is a renowned Indian cricket player,Shekhar Bose is retired from service and holding the post of Escretary Jharkhand Volleyball Association,and Prof.M.LDas(self) retired in 2000 after remaining University Professor ,Pro-Vice Chancellor and Vice Chancellor of Vinoba Bhave University ,Hazaribag.He used to play Volleyball for Patna University (as Captain of the team 1958-59)and the State of Bihar. Time flies by so fast.Gautam Bannerjee, a TISCO employee at Jamshedpur rang this morning and I hunted these photographs to be shared by those who are alive,retired or working. I have posted two photos of RU Sports Control Board which show the late Dr.A.K.Dhan.,P.CMudtafi, Mrs Geeta Sanyal,,Prof.S.D.Singh.and others.Dr. Dhan posted sports activities in RU to its zenith.
