This picture is of eighty three year old Helen Cobiness being arrested after a takeover and occupation of the band office. She was arrested with three other women while protesting their millionaire hereditary but adopted non-Indigenous chief John Thunder. Since given his place as chief he has kept all status and actual band members in poverty. The giant mansion is one of his three houses, two in Buffalo Point and one in the city of Winnipeg. The smaller house is one of the band members with no hydro they use a wood stove the smaller house can fit in his garage right now as you read this there is Buffalo Point band members on a hunger strike in Ottawa they are willing to risk their own lives for thier community and original caretakers of treaty three.
