This pictures show the man many people met; however, my friendship with hermano Rene Beltran extends about 14 years back when pastor Felipe Vides and I visited him and gave him our blessing to begin a new congregation with only his own family and one more family from Oaxaca. The first time I was invited to speak was in a vigilia, which was an actual vigilia because I preached for three whole hours. That small group was so hungry to hear Gods word that I was finding it hard to stop. From that day on, I couldnt get hermano Rene Beltran off my back cause he followed me everywhere I went as a pastor. OMG! I have never met a person so hungry for the word of God and humble enough to ask for help. One day we were driving back from a pastors retreat in California City, CA (a very long drive) when he said, hes no Angel, enseñeme como hacer un mensaje (teach me how to outline a sermon). I really believe that because of his humbleness God have him some much more, for soon he had a congregation larger than mine as well as disciples thirsty for the word just as he was. I was so impressed with how much progress he had made when I invited him to speak at our church. His passion was unlike any other I had seen and his humbleness was so evident. In many aspects pastor Rene Beltran went ahead of me, even the one that shocked me, when yesterday, I got the News that he had gone to be with The Lord. I knew in that very moment that perhaps the only reason he would consent to come back to life was to finish raising his young daughter, for otherwise hes indeed a much happier man right now. For us yet #UNKNOWN, but pastor Rene Beltran has stepped into the unknown, the very place all Christians long to be, the very presence or our Lord and King, Jesus Christ. Pastor Rene Beltran, Im so grateful for your friendship and your sincere love and respect. Ill miss you so, so much.
