This piece of Trigg County history is passing on... Dickie Mitchell, engineer of the Cadiz Railroad, used a retired passenger coach to build a home about 1935 on the hill above the depot. A temporary track was laid and the steam locomotive was used to push the coach up the hill where jacks were put under it while brick pillars were built for the car to sit on. Mitchell lived there the rest of his life and is said to have sat on the back porch every morning and listened for the whistle of the train as it came in from its morning run to/from Gracey.
