This post I saw from Ashley Masterson is a very debatable topic although I am not debating I would like to add this conversation to our company blog eventually and put it out there to see what everyone thinks about it because do think this somewhat serious, not totally but is worth discussion...I have worked in technology consulting and software design for several years now and love gaming and allow my 8yo daughter to play games including mine craft and others. As a marine I understand good posture and discipline..right hand right knee, left hand left knee, back straight, eyes front, mouth shut...aye aye sir! So while with diligent and constant over watch gaming can be enjoyed I truly feel the bigger problem is a generation of hunch backs...pointed out to me by Tone Mcgee. Poor posture, and constantly leaning over computer screens and game pads and tablets and phones, look at the people around you from time to time and notice the heads down shoulders slouched and looking at their phones. So I monitor what and how my kids play (online especially) and what they watch and how often...but also remind them constantly to sit correctly, away from the tv or monitors, correct their posture, and teach them to type along the way. Just food for thought. the games and stuff are the first for rewards for doing well in school and finishing homework first, but also the first to go when behavior doesnt warrant the use. I think that also includes how I even allow any time for myself to indulge in any entertainment or things out side of work related computer use. Priorities remember?
