This post and song is dedicated to Mary Fouts (and Mark), Siham Jasmund, Gary Jasmund, the people of Ghana, and, most importantly, God One year ago tonight I was fairly quivering with excitement. The previous several months had been challenging, to say the least. God was working on me - there were moments of calmness, clarity, and contentment, but many more of uncertainty, tears, questions, and the need to surrender. The only thing I thought I knew for certain was that He wanted me to go to Ghana. Things (mostly my own will & desires and thinking I knew what the plan should be) seemed to get in the way. When I finally gave all that to God, He revealed His plan to me...and yes, He DID want me to go to Ghana. Halleluia!!! And so, on December 11, 2013, I was leaving for Ghana with Mark & Mary Fouts. The next three weeks were some of the most amazing in my life thus far. It wasnt all easy, by any means, but I felt like I was in my sweet spot. I fell in love with the people of Ghana and it was so hard to come back home when it felt like home was there. Its said that home is where your heart is...well, a chunk of my heart is in Ghana. I so want to go back for long-term missions. I think that may be Gods will for me too. Im impatient, after all, Im not getting any younger. But I learned something last year...that Gods way is the best way. So, Im still here - praying to go back, but trusting in Gods perfect plan and timing...waiting on Him with a heart wide open, and saving my money! You are God / You are God / of all else Im letting go. Hillsong Live - Forever Reign
