This post is in regard to that horrible video showing sheep skinned alive. This is one of the most slanderous lies I have ever seen. This moron from Yahoo takes a 5 year old Peta video calling for the boycott of wool and slaps a picture of Uggs on it as if Uggs had anything to do with the atrocities in the video. I cant believe this passes for journalism, even at Yahoos poor standards. 1. The butchering and skinning of live sheep shown in the video are being committed by people in Asia and the middle east where there are no laws protecting these animals. It has nothing to do with Uggs. Uggs doesnt buy any sheep skins from that part of the world. 2. The video is calling for a boycott of all wool products not Uggs in particular. 3. Uggs does not raise or own any sheep. 4. The Peta video doesnt mention Uggs or Decker at all. 5. Sheep are not raised and killed for their skin, they are raised for meat, the skin is a by product just like cowhide leather is a byproduct of processing beef. 6. The skins are purchased from meat processors. 7. Uggs/Decker does what it can to ensure that the skins they purchase are not sourced from sheep farmers that are inhumane to their sheep. Try visiting the Uggs/Decker website and read there policy on animal welfare.
