This post is in response to a request but it feels more like a dare to me. Lol! I was asked to tell some things about myself that people may or may not know. Hopefully you will read the entire thing and feel free to comment or not. As I have learned from my teaching family and friends when you have to give a report on someone you always start out with the positives before moving on to the negatives. When I talk about myself I generally just jump straight to the negative. So here goes. . . Hmm! Positives, this is harder than I thought. Okay, I am a Christian. I not only believe in God and the Trinity but I try to live it every day. I was raised in a Pentecostal or holiness church and no, we did not handle snakes. Do people still think that’s all Pentecostals do? Anyway, I am very proud of my church upbringing. I am married (second time) to a wonderful man who treats me like a princess and makes me very happy. I have two remarkable children, Lorrie and Justin. I would and do drop anything for them. They both have been blessed with great spouses, Stevie and Nicki. I also have five grandchildren who occupy a good bit of my time by choice. Caleb is nine, Natalie is seven, Eli is six, Isaac is four and Luke will be two in a few days. How blessed I truly am!! Some other highlights are that I am a Kindergarten Aide and I absolutely love it. There is nothing as entertaining or enlightening than five and six year olds. My two favorite things to do are to clean and read/study the Bible. I love it when things are organized and in their proper place. I see my OCD tendencies as a good thing but others may not. Lol! I have a few really good friends that I am very faithful to and I like to try to encourage people as much as possible. Sometimes I am a little too generous and I always am very talkative. Now a few negatives. This should be easy. My mother died when I was 13 and my father really didn’t have much to do with me but there are many blessings that came from those sad circumstances so in reality they are positives. I have always been fairly healthy but I do have a few little issues. I have Fibromyalgia but I keep it in control for the most part through diet and exercise. I have Osteoarthritis but at my 52 years is normal I guess, even though sometimes it doesn’t feel that way. I have Osteopenia which means one day I will probably break a hip. Cross your fingers that it doesn’t happen. I have Thrombocytosis, which means I have high platelets in my blood. The hematologist doesn’t really know why but is monitoring it closely. Other than that I am in pretty good shape except that my shape isn’t all that great. After about 45 it has been harder and harder to keep my weight where it should be. I am trying to eat healthier and exercise more but it is a greater challenge with each birthday. Now this is the part that you get to jump in on. Feel free to add to both my lists. I will try my best to take all negatives constructively. If you are feeling brave give this dare (request) a try and see if you can use it to make yourself a better person. Thanks for reading!
