This post may ruffle a few competitors feathers but hey this is my opinion... This week specifically I have noticed my news feed start to flood with comp prep and diet news. I have also started posing practice with a few clients and begun dieting down a few of my own girls. Whilst I will never slag a facet of the industry that has given me so much opportunity, I do feel compelled to remind women of whats real and what isnt. What you are doing will not be received with such passion and enthusiasm by those who arent bodybuilding inclined. I think it is important to be respectful of each others time and not bombard people with your journey to the stage. Share it only with those who will accept it with open arms and offer you nothing but positivity. It is important to keep your work and comp prep separate in my opinion. Professionalism is something that I believe is of the upmost importance in a work place. I dont think posing practice, stage heels or anything of this nature should be seen in a work place. Like I said before, not everyone will understand or appreciate your hard work or dedication so dont expect them to. What you are doing is an aesthetic competition. That means you are being judged on WHAT YOU LOOK LIKE. It isnt a competition on how hard you worked or what you sacrificed or anything else of a personal nature. And as life will have it... As time goes by your looks will fade so dont place your entire self worth on how you look. When someone asks how you are..lie..say Im great thank you how are you? Answering Im tired or depleted is not ok. If someone takes the time to say how are you, give them the courtesy of having a nice conversation not competition based. This also helps set the tone of how you are feeling. The more you say how tired you are the more tired you will feel. A bit of perspective too, there are 8 yr old children walking 12KMs to school with no shoes, they are tired. Be mindful of your partners and family. They love you and will always love you so be respectful that they dont want to see you stressed and tired. They dont understand but they do love you. Just my thoughts. Any responses??
