This posting was provided by a friend of mine, a very good cop, a United States Marshal with three decades of experience.... I suspect he is as upset by this as I am.... According to the babysitter, the reason the police were called to the home was because the girl was throwing a tantrum with a knife in her hand, and there was worry she might hurt herself. One of the four officers involved was a Taser instructor, while another was a hostage negotiator. What is wrong with these cops? Are they simply too frightened for the job? Are they pathological? Are they simply stupid? Does racism figure into this? Do these officer simply not value the wellbeing of the citizens they serve? I dont know. What I know is that I would not have taken this course of action. An 8 year old child, weighing 70 pounds? Four cops? madworldnews/police-tase-8-year-old-child/
