This powerful story in last Sundays Honolulu Star-Advertiser revealed a little known fact about Hawaiis role the civil rights movement in South during late 1960s. The Hawaiian man on the far left of the color photo is Henry Kuualoha Giugni. He is the father of my dear friend and Family Ingredients colleague, Heather Giugni. He and the others from Hawaii were fearless and driven to respond to racial injustice. For them to go to Selma, Alabama and walk along side the other Freedom Marchers speaks volumes about these individuals.Inspiring! I have to say that Heather shares that family ingredient or DNA found in her father. Hawaii should be extremely proud of these individuals who stood for racial justice.
