This precious furbaby, Elffie, is my new foster baby. She is said to be a chi and 8 months old by her previous owner. Elffie was taken to EVS last night and the owner couldnt afford to pay for her care so they contacted Karen Crawford who then contacted Franklin County Humane Society to see if they would pull her, and then they contacted me to see if I would foster her. She is severely emaciated and is believed to have a heart condition. I just picked her up from EVS and transported her to The Pet Clinic of Rocky Mount so that they can further evaluate her and get her on the path to being a healthy furbaby. As I sit here getting ready to leave the vets office, I am crying over her because I know what she has gone through in her short lifetime and it just kills me that I cant take her home with me tonight. I am so thankful that her previous owner took her to EVS instead of letting her die outside in the cold all alone!!!! At least he had that much sense about him!!!! I promised Elffie that today was the first day of the rest of her life and that I was going to make DAMN sure that she didnt suffer one more second!!!!!
