This problem is not isolated to England alone, its a problem across the whole United Kingdom. We increasingly hear from primary amputees being discharged from hospital without an Occupational Home visit resulting in no access to hygiene facilities or sleeping rooms. on occasions discharged in wheelchairs which leave them trapped in homes where doorways are unsuitable. These events not only increase costs but also increase incidents of isolation and depression of disabled and vulnerable patients who are left isolated behind curtains and front doors.
