This project has been in the making for a very long time. By chance I met Sonya through another facebook group we both belong to. It was through this other group I learned of her project and contacted her about my project on the WWI Memorial Trees project and my website. I was able to provide her with a copy of the original Memorial Tree Planting program and service and an original list of recommended trees, poetry and articles. Please share this, especially, if you have an interest in WWI history, please attend the service if you are in the area. It has been such an honor to work with Sonya on the flyer, insert and text and the dedication service. She is one dedicated lady to preserving an important part of African American history. They fought for dignity, France and America.
