This quick video shows a typical collection of a crew member from a barge, coming alongside on a rising tide and delivering him back to shore. Working on the Mersey Gateway project for a steel piling company. The work is pretty demanding, mainly comprising crew transfers and survey operations. Tidal flow is huge - with an occasional bore coming through. The tide fills in a little over two hours, and is gone very quickly leaving sticky mudflats and dangerous gullies.
