This rain in December, reminded me of a passage from a song - TopicsExpress

This rain in December, reminded me of a passage from a song written by Chick Corea for his band Return to Forever and first recorded, as an instrumental, on the 1971 album “Light As A Feather.” I remember, when I first acquired the pre-Dolby, AKAI GXC-46D Stereo Cassette Tape Deck (from Playback, in Indy) ‘Light As A Feather” was the first entire album I recorded to tape. Sadly, this and two subsequent TEAC cassette decks (360s and 450) were all burglarized on separate occasions. Too many people knew exactly where I was and how long I would be gone, on Friday and Saturday nights. The name of the song is, “Spain,” and has been covered and tweaked, many times, even by Corea himself. The version I’ve chosen, is by the vocal group, the Swingle Singers and might be a little more accessible, to many. l will supply a link, to the original, in the comments below. If there are any jazz fans out there, you might recognize, in the opening of Spain, some of the opening track to the Miles Davis album, Sketches of Spain. https://youtube/watch?v=KbAuCQG_-j8
