This really is a long shot and I will be very surprised if there are any takers. Back in the very early 80s there was an old boy ( about 80 or so ) that habitually sat on the seat behind the Sailing Club at Spray Point looking out to sea. He was noticeable because not only was he extremely friendly but had a very lived in craggy face. The thing that was noticeable about him though was that he only had one eye. It looked as though he could have got it by way of an injury sustained in the war. To me and my colleagues he was One Eyed Jack. His accent and dialect was broad Brissle using the word bis frequently etc etc. It really was an education listening to him and a manner of speaking that seems to have virtually vanished nowadays. My question is did anyone else know him and what his story in life was.
