This reminds me of my science fiction novel phase as a youth. Ray Bradbury, Robert Heinlein, Frank Herbert, Stanislav Lem & every crazy science fiction writer around at the time (except L Ron Hubbard, who sucked as a writer to begin with). The first time we saw anything close to this was in Lost In Space episodes when they would use an early concept of a microwave unit to replicate food. Now we have this great leap of technology way beyond what humans know what to do with it intelligently. The first plastic 3D copier printed out a working gun. Although not relevant now, the link below will show a scientific concept that has been around since the 1940s. If the two ever merge into a working concept who knows what could happen. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Von_Neumann_universal_constructor
