This reminds me of the early 90s in Seattle, where the musicians wore flannel and worn denim because a) flannel is good in that kind of environment and b) junk shop clothes were all they could afford. And then the scene broke on the waiting world because of all the great musicians and ripped jeans were selling for $100 a pair, brought to you by the New York fashion houses. Talk about not getting the point.
