This revelation still does not justify the level of the use of force by the officer. Firing a gun at a petty shoplifter is not a good enough reason to fire a gun at somebody. If the officers safety was in jeopardy, if the public safety was in jeopardy, that would be understandable. We havent heard that described yet. What we have heard is an allegation by the officer that his gun was first fired inside the car but some eyewitnesses appear contradict that claim. There is also the claim floating around that the accused was attempting to surrender and might not have been in flight when shot.
