Tess takes whatever scraps of kindness given to her. She has a “bad” reputation and lives down to it. She is given a new perspective when Lucas enters her life. Lucas-oh Lucas. He has been punished for protecting a loved one. When he meets Tess he actually sees her. The real her, not the tough persona she shows the world. He wants to know her. How can he help her see how amazing/special/worthy she is when she only expects the worse from men? I love Lucas. He is honest, gruff, sad and a little lost. He is ready to give his heart-and his eyes are set on Tess. Tess-oh I just want to hug her! She wants to believe in love, in Lucas, herself and in the magic of Christmas. This novella is 44 pages long (I’m pretty sure my review is longer than that ) It sucks you in and when it ends-oh sigh. You will remember why the holidays are so magical.
