This short clip was shot on a SJcam - a Chinese-made GoPro - TopicsExpress

This short clip was shot on a SJcam - a Chinese-made GoPro imitation. I recorded in HD1920X1080P but made a mistake editing to a different screen size and can only produce a 720/540. So do compare Apples with Apples. My overall rating is 6/10 compared to a GoPro rating of 9/10. If you need footage for broadcast, spend on the GoPro but if you just need the occasional Facebook video for fun, then the SJcam will do nicely at 1/4 to 1/5 the price. CONS ARE: Light meter not cleaver enough for varying light conditions within one scene resulting in underexposure in those conditions. The buttons are hard to press resulting in cam shake when taking stills. There are very few options for stills. eg.you can;t set it to auto-shoot a pic every ten seconds, for example. Like u can on a GoPro. it wont automatically download to iPhoto. But its easy enough to drag and drop files to folder. PROS ARE:- Its cheap. USD95 compared to a GoPro Hero4 at close to USD500. Thats 5X people! It comes with a built-in screen unlike the GoPro. It comes with wifi. It mounts onto your existing GoPro mounts if you are a GoPro user who may want additional affordable cams for other angles. I will post some still shots in comments. SELECT HD ON PLAYBACK. In Kuching, SJcams are available from SiangMing Foo. He will deliver to you and show you how to use it. In Miri, GoPros are available from Henrik Funfsinn.
