This sign that my good friend Ambre Elianna Broshis is holding at one of the recent protests says it all!! In order for the Helmetta Regional animal shelter to be reformed the mayor Nancy Martin must either resign or be recalled as she should not be able to have a stranglehold on the shelter. She hired the husband and wife team of Richard and Michal Chielesz who are still the director and asst. director of the shelter on paper. These two must be terminated! We at Sammy the cocker spaniel do not see the township of Helmetta taking these steps so we are calling on the NJSPCA for a complete takeover of the shelter!! The health department both county and state has failed to act numerous times over the deplorable conditions at the shelter since its inception in 2011. The NJSPCA with a state takeover can restore the shelter but the township with a weak town council who are at odds with the mayor and vice versa will never get the shelter situation controlled. I realize that there is a procedure that has to take place if the town doesnt on their own give up the shelter to the state so we implore the Helmetta town council to for once do the right thing and sign the shelter over to the state officials and NJSPCA. {MARTIN}
